We were really pleasantly surprised by our stay here. We've booked a night as part of a family trip through Cornwall, and it was agreed it was the best place we stayed at. The rooms were well decorated and cosy, the staff was super friendly, and we've had a great dinner at the pub - food, service, drinks, the works. Thank you so much! Stayed recently with my stepson and his dog. I cannot praise this place enough. It's a lovely old building but still immaculately clean throughout. Rooms are perfect, tea,coffee and biscuits 😋 as standard. Breakfast choices are excellent. Pre ordered the night before. Very fresh and tasty with juice and hot drinks. Bar is friendly and welcoming with great choices. The dining room is a hidden gem and the food is delicious and very high quality. I honestly couldn't recommend this place enough. Special mention to Ben, Freya and the housekeeping lady. We had a fabulous one night stay to celebrate my 50th birthday. The team at the Olde Malthouse upgraded us to the family suite with a bathroom and treated us to prosecco at dinner. Freya greeted us when we arrived and made us feel so welcome and comfortable, she made sure we had everything we needed. Our room was exceptionally clean, I mean really clean!!! With tastefully decor and a comfy bed, we sat and watched the sunset from the window seats in our upgraded suite. Dinner was fabulous, really delicious with smokes olives and home pickled onions in our starter. The wine list was really decent and a cooked Cornish breakfast is included in the room price. Highly recommended staying here, it's very atmospheric, with creaks and knocks, what you'd expect from a 14th century Inn, but a friendly energy. Stayed with my wife and Boxer and had an amazing stay. We were welcomed by the fantastic Freya and shown to our room and booked a table for dinner. Absolutely outstanding food and again Freya was just incredible dealing with bar and service on her own. The rooms were not perfect but were lovely overall. My wife did have a ghostly encounter at 3am so didnt sleep much afyer that, but i certainly did! Daisy on breakfast was very pleasant and gave our dog a sausage! My only negative on the breakfast would be the food had been prepared quite in advance and kept under the lamps but still very tasty. Overall a great stay and the owner should be very proud of Freyas work ethics, I would not hesitate to hire her. We came here as our car broke down nearby and we needed a place to settle in for a while. It’s a beautifully decorated, friendly pub with a roaring fire. We then decided to get food as we were going to be there for a while and we were enjoying ourselves. We had two vegetarians in our group, and the options were amazing and the service was great as well. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely be back. Der Ort Tintagel spricht ja bereits Bände, und "Ye olde malthouse" unterstreicht die idyllische Gegend mit erlesener Gastronomie ohne dabei abgehoben zu wirken. Besonders hevorzuheben ist das Angebot an feinen Frühstückskreationen. Frühstücksbuffet gibt es keines was auch angesichts der feinen Gerichte fehl am Platz wäre. Die Zimmer sind sehr liebevoll eingerichtet und passen thematisch perfekt in das historische Gebäude von welchen es im Ort beeindruckend viele gibt. Vielen Dank für die angenehmen Stunden die uns hier beschert wurden.
